2024-2025 Updates

Thanks to our Student, Staff, School Board and Community feedback/input and work, our Strategic Planning process is in motion. We now have a draft of our 5 year Roadmap that is in motion to be finalized, adding benchmarks for measurement before completion. The entire goal of our Strategic Plan - 5 Year Roadmap is to #MoveTrumannForward.

Highlights from the Drafted Strategic Plan:

One of the biggest steps we will take in 24-25 will be a shift in how each campus is configured and what each campuses' primary focus will be.

Trumann Elementary School will transition to a Kindergarten-3rd Grade Campus with a Heavy Focus on Early Literacy and a goal to have ALL students on grade level in reading before exiting TES.

Trumann Middle School will transition to a 4th-7th Grade Campus with a Heavy Emphasis on Core Instruction and Wellness. 4th-7th graders will be primarily focused on Reading/Writing, Math, Science, and Social Studies in their daily work. There will be an additional focus on Wellness at TMS. To be included in this emphasis will be a scheduled period of physical activity each day and an opportunity to prepare for upcoming pee wee sport seasons (volleyball, basketball, and football). 7th Grade students will have their own athletic period on the TMS campus.

Trumann High School will transition to an 8th-12th Grade Campus with a Heavy Emphasis on Career/Work and/or College Readiness. For the past 2 years many 8th graders have been bussed to THS for 1 period a day to participate in Career and Technical Education electives, as well as for Band/Choir for high school credit. Transitioning 8th graders full time to THS will allow them more opportunities to participate in CTE electives, advanced math courses (such as Algebra I), fine arts, and more.

Trumann Prek will continue to serve our youngest, qualifying 3 and 4 year learners following the Arkansas Better Chance, Better Beginnings, and DHS criteria.
