School Board Members

Trumann School Board of Director meetings are held the second Monday of each month to hear and review a variety of school district business. The meetings are held at 6:00pm in the TSD Central Administration Office Board Room.

In accordance with ACT 902 of 2025, district residents, parents/legal guardians of TSD students, and/or TSD employees may sign up for Public Comment between 5:30pm and 6:00pm. The meeting will start promptly at 6:00pm. Public comment must follow the provisions of ACT 902 of 2025 and Policy 1.14.

Board of Director meetings are held in public, but are not public meetings. The Board is prohibited from discussing specific student or personnel matters in public. We invite you to attend any of our Board of Director meetings and to meet your Board representatives.

Running for School Board Information from Arkansas School Board Association

Serving on an Arkansas school board is serious business. In fact, state accountability laws and rules can result in removal from office of entire school boards. School boards in Arkansas are expected to fulfill the roles and responsibilities outlined in 6-13-620.

School Board Candidate Qualifications:

  • Must be a qualified registered voter of the school district and the electoral zone, if applicable A.C.A. §§6-13-616(a), Article 3, §1
  • Must be a U.S. citizen Article 3, §1
  • Must be an Arkansas resident Article 3, §1
  • Must be a resident of the school district and, if elected from zones, the respective electoral zone A.C.A. §6-13-616
  • Must not be an employee of the school district served A.C.A. §6-13-616(b)
  • Must be lawfully registered to vote Article 3, §1
  • Must never have been convicted, plead guilty, or plead nolo contendere of embezzlement of public money, bribery, forgery, or other infamous crime (including any felony) A.C.A. § 21-8-305, Articles 3, §6 & 5, §9

Terms of Board Members

The Trumann School District is governed by a five-member Board of Education elected to staggered four-year terms.

TSD is currently zoned into 5 zoned positions.

In the 2028 election year, all 5 zones will transition to At-Large positions.
