Trumann Quiz Bowl

On Saturday, April 27, 2024, Trumann High School won the AAA Arkansas Governor’s Quiz Bowl Association State Championship in the 4A division against Arkadelphia. With a final score of Trumann: 195 - Arkadelphia: 165, the match took place in Conway at the Arkansas PBS studios and appeared on live television.  The coaches express their deep pride in their players. Coach Duggins expresses that this victory was the culmination of several years of growth, coaching, strategy, and cultivation. Coach Fowler shares this sentiment and adds that this was likewise a statement beyond just victory. The appearance at the state finals and subsequent win was Trumann’s students carrying a torch for their school and their region, clearly stating that Trumann and Northeast Arkansas has some powerhouse academics. The match will be available for streaming on YouTube and the PBS app for those unable to have watched it live. 

It is noted that many of these team members were members of the State Winning Junior High Teams in 2019-2020 and 2021-2022, State Runner Up Junior High Team in 2020-2021, and Regional Winning Senior High Teams in 2021-2022, 2022-2023, and 2023-2024.
