The journey to this championship moment has been nothing short of remarkable. Earlier this month, the Wildcats dominated the 4A State Tournament held on April 12, going undefeated and scoring a record-setting 515 points in one match—the highest score in school history.
Led by team captain Noah Clayton, the roster includes standout players Quintin Busby, Asher Smith, Tabitha Tyler, Kylan Busby, Sam Hatcher, Gage Cubit, Jayson Stewmon, Anne-Marie Biggers, John Skaggs, Jonah Pledger, and Maverick Atkins. Under the leadership of Head Coach Chase Fowler, Assistant Coach Alex Cole, and Sponsor Kelli Young, the team has demonstrated not only exceptional academic prowess but also unmatched teamwork and perseverance.
The Quiz Bowl team’s back-to-back appearance and victory at the state championship is more than a milestone—it is a monument to the potential, commitment, and excellence that exists within Trumann’s student body. Not only did they face and defeat some of the toughest 4A teams in Arkansas, but their average scores and overall performance ranked among the best in the entire state across all divisions.
Coach Fowler expressed his pride, stating, “This team has not only met expectations—they have set a new standard. Their hard work, determination, and resilience are a credit to our school and our entire community.”
As the Wildcats close another victorious season, the pride in Trumann runs deep. With a Wildcat roar, the Trumann High School Quiz Bowl team has once again brought home the title—and a legacy that will inspire future generations.
